Bliss balls are a quick and easy snack to make but many recipes include lots of nuts and excessive dried fruit.  This nut free bliss ball with oats, cacao nibs and a small number of dates is a great alternative and reminiscent of a chocolate chip cookie. The cacao nibs provide a good source of iron and calcium and give a great texture. The healthy fats and protein from the tahini and fibre from the oats, seeds and coconut make this a satisfying, well balanced, sweet snack that will sustain you to your next meal.

ALLERGENS: Sesame

Ingredients

100g oats

60g dates

60g tahini

30g maple syrup

20g cacao nibs

20g sunflower seeds

20g desiccated coconut

15g coconut oil melted

1tsp ground cinnamon

1tsp vanilla essence

Large pinch of sea salt

Sesame seeds for rolling in (optional)

Method

  1. Place all ingredients into food processor and blend until fine. You may need to pulse and scrape the sides a few times to get the desired consistency.
  2. Shape into balls and roll in sesame seeds if desired and refrigerate.
